Biography

Bruce Wexler is an actor, improviser and sketch performer who teaches Professional Development in Acting for the Screen at Syracuse University’s Los Angeles campus.

Wexler has appeared in numerous recurring, guest starring and co-starring roles for TV and film, most notably as Robert Bennett, the father of Rue (Zendaya) on HBO’s “Euphoria.” Other favorites include Netflix’s “Forever” and FXX’s “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.” Additionally, he has appeared in 60 plus commercials.

Beginning his career in sketch and improv, Wexler was a member of the famed Groundlings Sunday Company, writing and performing weekly sketch shows to sold out audiences. He also served as a staff writer for the CBS Diversity Showcase, an annual sketch show that introduces emerging talent to the industry. He currently performs with The Impro Theatre, LA’s home for narrative improv.

Wexler’s voiceover experiences include roles on animated series for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Netflix, as well as a plethora of TV/radio commercials, looping and English dubbing.

Wexler has spent years working with high school, undergraduate and graduate students on a variety of subjects. In particular, he has taught master classes on improvisation for Syracuse University Los Angeles summer semester students and as a guest instructor in improv and sketch for TV and film at Oklahoma City University’s M.F.A. in screen acting program.

A graduate of Syracuse University himself, Wexler is so excited to give back to SU, a community of educators and artists who have had an indelible effect on his professional trajectory.
