Student Art Organizations
Random Access Gallery
The student-run Random Access Gallery seeks to provide current graduate students with a space to expand upon their practice by contributing to cross-departmental dialogue. It enriches the arts community within Syracuse University and Syracuse as a whole through both graduate-organized programming as well as visiting artist exhibitions, which inform students by encouraging them to connect to other communities regionally, nationally and internationally. Through its programs, Random Access seeks to bridge interests while expanding the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ graduate network.
Shaped Clay Society
The Shaped Clay Society is a student-run organization of ceramics undergraduate and graduate ceramics students. Through various fundraising activities—including a popular mug sale on campus—the group is able to increase educational opportunities, such as bringing visiting artists to campus, or support a local organization, such as Empty Bowls benefits for the Interreligious Food Consortium of Central New York.
JAM Club
The Jewelry and Metalsmithing (JAM) Club is open to anyone interested in becoming a member. Members of the club gain experience making and selling jewelry, T-shirts and program-related items to the Syracuse University community. Students learn about pricing, advertising, organizing a sale and running a business-oriented art club.
Command Print
Command Print is our student-run print club. As a member, you can participate in numerous events, field trips and demonstrations related to printmaking.
