Designer Bio:
My name is Domenic Gallo, and I am an industrial designer from Duanesburg, New York. I am always striving to find creative, practical solutions to technical challenges. My work focuses on repairability and sustainability, democratization of technology, disabilities studies, and human-centered design to create highly usable products and systems that accommodate everyone.
Project Description:
3D printing, as it exists today, is far too complicated of a task for the average user. If it, or any other form of rapid manufacturing technology, is going to become widely used, the usability must be considered.
Makr is a product ecosystem that seeks to solve this problem. From model acquisition to CAD modeling to print management, Makr encompasses all of the steps in the 3D printing process to improve ease of access and bring this technology into ubiquity.
