The bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) in art photography program prepares students for a variety of exciting careers in photography and related creative fields, providing essential technical and critical skills to help them gain the confidence to take risks and find their own voices.

Contemporary photographic practices embrace a wide array of styles including fashion, portraiture, documentary, landscape and moving image. Our classes combine professional studio training, career preparation and a strong engagement with the world.

When we recently redesigned our B.F.A. degree program, we addressed several questions: What skills and knowledge do students need to prosper during and after their education? How do we create classes that are innovative, challenging and fun? And how do we ensure our students develop technological expertise and critical thinking abilities to prepare for inevitable changes in the field of photography?

If you are ready to bring your energy, talents and creativity, we welcome you to our community of engaged faculty, students and alumni. Our mission is simple: to help train you to produce meaningful work in dialogue with a changing world.
