Biography

Jonathan M. Bullinger is a collective memory scholar who received a Ph.D. from Rutgers University. His areas of special interest are collective memory, alternative history, commemoration, branding, war and popular culture.

Bullinger has taught at State University of New York: Oneonta and Geneseo; Ithaca College; and Rutgers University.

  • Published book chapters on the war imagination in both board games (MIT Press) and Lego (Peter Lang), as well as on the construction of selective historical authenticity in video games (Bloomsbury)
  • Co-creator and co-host of “Inside the Box: the TV History Podcast”
