Biography
Adrienne Dagg is an assistant professor of studio arts (painting) in the School of Art.
Dagg previously served as a full-time continuous instructor and visual arts program chair at Red Deer Polytechnic’s School of Arts and Education in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Prior to that she taught as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta’s Department of Art & Design in Edmonton.
Dagg’s creative work and research focuses on pushing the boundaries of traditional figurative painting. She has exhibited her work throughout Canada and in the United States, with recent solo shows at the Art Incubator Gallery, Harcourt House Artist Run Centre, Edmonton; Bau-Xi Gallery in Toronto; and FAB Gallery in Edmonton. Her work was part of the Digital Display Showcase (public art) at the New York City Subway (59th Street).
Dagg’s research has been supported by grants from the Alberta Foundation of the Arts, the Edmonton Arts Council and the Calgary Foundation.
During her time in Red Deer, Dagg has served as a juror for several exhibitions, most recently the “Summer Solstice Plein Air Painting Event & Show” for the Red Deer Arts Council. She is a past recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Award for figurative art from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation in Montreal.
