Biography
Alexander Kubak Klich is an assistant teaching professor of film in the Department of Film and Media Arts.
For the past six years, Klich has served as cinematography senior instructor in the film production program of Shanghai Vancouver Film School in China. He also taught a screenwriting intensive at the school. Prior to that he served as head of the B.A. in communication and digital media program at Mexico’s top private university, Tec de Monterrey University, Campus Santa Fe. He also taught at three other public and private universities in Mexico.
Klich has worked as a cinematographer for two feature films as well as more than 30 other short films, primarily as a cinematographer but also in other roles, such as directing, writing and producing in Los Angeles and Mexico. Recent credits include serving as director of photography for the documentaries “Hearth Follows Nature: Slow Life in Chongming Island” and “Mujeres de Barro” as well as the feature film “Aerosol (Paintspray).”
Klich received an M.F.A. in film and television production from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA and B.A. in communication sciences from Tec de Monterrey University. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, and while studying for his M.F.A., he was nominated for the Panavision Cinematography Award at the Film Outside the Frame festival.
