Biography

Michael Francis McBride is a professor of practice of musical theater in the Department of Drama.

Prior to joining Syracuse University, McBride served as a master class educator of varying styles/techniques, including ballet, jazz, musical theater and basic tap. Notable locations included the Kennedy Center Summer Intensive, JUNTOS Collective Guatemala Residency, South African Soweto Outreach, Oprah Leadership Academy for Girls, University of California Berkeley, Utah Valley University and STEPS on Broadway. McBride also served as a principal dancer at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT) and was the company’s class teacher (ballet, modern and jazz).

With AAADT McBride performed over 65 ballets in 15 countries on four continents. He has choreographed for the Fire Island Dance Festival featuring Alan Cumming, Troy University, Nashville School of the Arts and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts.
