Biography

DaSol Park is a South Korean filmmaker currently based in the United States. Born in Geochang, she studied acting and sociology before transitioning into filmmaking in Seoul. Her work centers on contemporary Korean women, drawing from lived experience to explore structural inequality, personal desire and the emotional tensions shaped by social expectations. Working across documentary and fiction, she creates character-driven films that critically examine society while opening space for new ways of seeing and feeling.

Her short film “The Play” (2023) was selected by the Pune Short Film Festival (India), won the Best Micro Short Award at the Nitiin Film Festival (Malaysia) and its lead actress received the Best Actress Award at the Couch Film Festival (Canada). She also co-produced “Eulogy” (유언비어, 2023), which was selected for the Seoul International Pride Film Festival, screened at the Gyeonggi Queer Film Festival and was a semifinalist at the Serbest International Film Festival. Her documentary “Nothing but Relationships” (2026) was presented as part of the “Spaghetti Junction” exhibition at the Warehouse Gallery in Syracuse, New York.
