Biography

Alex Pepperman (he/him) is the founding artistic director and executive producer of SoHo Shakespeare Company. He is a director, actor, producer, teacher, text coach, carpenter and on the faculty at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA), New York City, where he teaches Acting Shakespeare.

Directing credits include: “Antigone,” “Waiting for Lefty” and “Richard III” (SoHo Shakespeare Company), “Thunderstruck” (Gene Frankel Theatre), “Complicity Machine” (Eden Theater Company), “Bardcore: Hamlet” (American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) Oberon), and “Monogamous Animals” (Eden Theater Company). He holds a master’s degree in theatre from Harvard University, where he specialized in Shakespeare studies (David Hammond); a B.A. in creative writing, acting and business marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison; and an A.O.S. from AADA, New York City.
