Biography

Stuart Plymesser is currently the associate director of production operations for Syracuse Stage and the production manager for Syracuse University’s Department of Drama. In those capacities, Plymesser coordinates all production elements for the Department of Drama—including schedules, budgets, auditions and supervising the production process—and he lends production support to Syracuse Stage shows by working with the stage management teams, hiring and managing crews for productions, and coordinating season planning.

Prior to this, Plymesser was the production stage manager for Syracuse Stage, where he helmed over 100 theatrical productions and special events. During that time he was fortunate to work with such talents as Jason Alexander, Elizabeth Franz, Frank Langella, Phylicia Rashad, Olympia Dukakis, Ted Koppel and Tina Howe on many plays, musicals and new works.

During his association with the Department of Drama, he has helped develop the stage management B.F.A. program. This has included creating and teaching courses as well as helping structure the stage management mentorship program.

Plymesser is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers. He is also a member of the United States Aikido Federation.
