Central New York Premiere of “Frozen The Broadway Musical” Transforms Syracuse Stage into a Winter Wonderland

Syracuse Stage brings the 2025-26 season to a majestic and magical close with the Central New York professional premiere of “Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical.”

Directed by Emily Maltby, with choreography by Marjorie Failoni and musical direction by Brian Cimmet, “Frozen” is a co-production with the Syracuse University Department of Drama and runs May 13 through June 21, 2026, in the Archbold Theatre at Syracuse Stage, 820 E. Genesee St., Syracuse.

Join Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven as they brave Elsa’s wintry storm in a thrilling live theatrical event, filled with timeless adventure, daring magic, heartfelt humor and all the stirring songs from the original film, including “Do You Want to Build a Snowman,” “For the First Time in Forever,” “Love is an Open Door” and the Oscar- and Grammy award-winning “Let It Go.”

“This new, live theatrical production of the Disney classic is created especially for audiences of all ages here in Central New York,” said Artistic Director Robert Hupp. “We’re pulling out all the stops as we invite everyone to experience this thrilling production. Yes, the kids will love it, but so will the adults. From happy hour to trivia night, we’re leaning into the one-of-a-kind experience you can’t get anywhere else.”

The cast of “Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical” includes Lyda Jade Harlan* as Elsa, Tanner Cox as Anna, Koray Tarhan* (Broadway: “Merrily We Roll Along”) as Kristoff, Brendan Malafronte* as Olaf, Matthew J. Dodaro as Hans, David Lowenstein* (Broadway: “Seussical,” “1776”) as Wesleton, Peter Surace* as Oaken, Beau Harmon* (TV: “So You Think You Can Dance”) as Pabbie and Jack Wyant as Sven.

The creative team includes Czerton Lim (scenic designer), Ryan J. Moller (costume designer), Dawn Chiang (lighting designer), Jacqui Herter (sound designer), David Murakami (projections designer) and Bobbie Zlotnik (wig designer). The production stage manager is E Sara Barnes* and the stage manager is Giles T. Horne*.

Performances of “Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical” have varied, family-friendly start times, including 6 and 7 p.m. evening shows and matinees beginning at noon and 1 p.m. A full performance schedule can be found at SyracuseStage.org. M&T Bank Pay-What-You-Will performances for “Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical” are May 13 – 17 inclusive; Prologue conversations, three pre-show discussions that take place one-hour before curtain, are on May 17, 23 and 28; and the Post-show Talkback will take place on Sunday, May 24, after the 7 p.m. performance. A family-friendly arts and crafts event will be held before the 7 p.m. performance on Friday, May 22.

Syracuse Stage has its open-captioned performances scheduled for May 30 at 7 p.m., June 3 at 2 p.m. and June 6 at 1 p.m., as well as an audio-described performance on Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. The Sensory Friendly performance, providing a welcoming environment that lets all patrons enjoy themselves freely without judgment or inhibition, will be held on June 6 at 1 p.m. Assisted listening devices are available at all performances.

Syracuse Stage will host “Happy Hour,” a pre-show event with discounted beverages and complimentary light fare, on May 21 beginning at 6 p.m. “Trivia Night,” a friendly competition hosted by “Jeopardy!” champion Dillon Hupp, will be held on Tuesday, June 9, at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary tacos will be served. Tickets for the 7 p.m. performance are required to participate. Preregistration at Syracusestage.org is recommended.
