Syracuse Pipe Organ Festival

Join us for a series of concerts and events to celebrate the pipe organ on March 27-29! All events are free and open to the public. Advance registration is required for the concert on March 29.

Arthur Poister Competition in Organ Playing

March 27, 7 p.m. – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 310 Montgomery St., Syracuse

Three finalists compete for prizes in this prestigious national competition. Attend and cast your vote for the Will O. Headlee Audience Prize. The event concludes with a reception and opportunity to build a model organ.

March 28, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Syracuse’s South Side

Area organists demonstrate beautiful instruments at Our Lady of Hope, St. Anthony’s of Padua and Most Holy Rosary Church. Join us for one, two or all of the following informal programs.

Annie Spink: Graduate Organ Recital

March 28, 2 p.m. – Setnor Auditorium, Syracuse University

The Hendricks Chapel Organ Scholar gives her degree recital on the historic Holtkamp organ in Crouse College. Works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Duruflé, Locklair and the world premiere of a new piece by Ivan Malcolm G’26.


Dedication of the Harrold Organ at SU Catholic

March 29, 4 p.m. – St. Thomas More Chapel at the Syracuse University Catholic Center, 110 Walnut Place, Syracuse

The Malmgren Concert Series of Hendricks Chapel hosts the first public concert on the newly installed organ for Syracuse University’s Catholic Center, originally built by Greg Harrold in 1995 for a private residence in Los Angeles. University Organist Anne Laver performs with soprano Kyra Stahr, the Hendricks Chapel Choir and dancers from the Meagan Woods Collaborative, featuring music by Bach, Bruhns, Hadyn, Vivaldi, Natalie Draper and a new work by José “Peppie” Calvar.
