Photography and Video Policy
The Warehouse Gallery recognizes that artwork installed in the gallery is photographed (non-flash) by the general public for personal use. However, photography of those same materials for non-personal use is subject to state and federal copyright, privacy laws and regulations.
The photography and video policy seeks to establish guidelines and procedures to ensure that such photography:
- Does not damage the objects in the gallery’s care;
- Does not interfere with the safety and enjoyment of visitors;
- Complies with state and federal copyright, privacy laws and regulations.
To protect the objects being photographed, the copyright privileges of their creators and the safety of other visitors, there are certain guidelines that must be followed when photographing at the gallery.
General Visitors
The gallery permits non-flash photography for personal use only, except when stated otherwise. Flash photography, video and tripods are not permitted for visitors. If you are posting online or social media outlets, please make sure to credit the gallery in the following way “Courtesy of the Warehouse Gallery,” or tag us on Instagram @su_vpa_warehousegallery or Facebook @vpa_warehousegallery.
During gallery open hours and events, photographers may be at work documenting gallery activities. Your presence implies your consent to the gallery’s use of your likeness in educational and promotional materials.
Press
Members of the press are permitted to photograph exhibitions, receptions and special events with prior permission from the art exhibition operations coordinator. The press member must identify themselves by showing identification. Equipment bags are subject to search.
