Biography
Klark Johnson is a third-year graduate student pursuing dual master’s degrees in vocal performance and voice pedagogy. She serves as a voice instructor at Syracuse University. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Johnson earned a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from Texas Christian University.
Recent performance highlights include appearing with the Festival Orchestra in the Festival of Music Young Artists Concert, performing in Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music recital showcase at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and singing Vaughan Williams’s “Dona Nobis Pacem” with the Onondaga Civic Symphony.
Johnson recently completed a two-year teaching assistantship at Syracuse University, contributing to courses in Lyric Diction, Voice Class and Opera Workshop. Her directing experience includes an assistant stage directing teaching assistantship with Syracuse Stage’s summer program, an assistant stage directing fellowship with Chicago Summer Opera, assistant directing Sondheim’s “Company” with Oswego Opera Theatre, and directing Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors” at Plymouth Congregational Church in January 2026.
