Biography
Amber Rane Sibley is a visiting assistant teaching professor in the School of Art.
Sibley previously taught ceramics at Hofstra University and Tulane University and served as the ceramics studio technician at Columbia University and Hunter College. Her studio practice focuses on figurative ceramic sculpture and explores narrative identity, empathy, and the social dynamics of victimhood and culpability. Her work combines hand-built ceramic forms with candied and grotesque glazes custom-developed for each piece.
Sibley’s work has been exhibited nationally and featured in The New York Times, Hyperallergic, Artforum, and Ceramics Now. She is represented by Fierman Gallery in New York.
Sibley holds an M.F.A. in ceramics from Tulane University and a B.F.A. in ceramics from Hunter College.
