The interdisciplinary master of arts (M.A.) degree program in audio arts offers a career path into the world of studio production. Whatever your interest in this field, the audio arts program offers an unparalleled mix of world-class instruction, hands-on industry experience and networking with successful Syracuse University alumni and the music industry at large.
Audio arts is a 14-month program that offers specializations in sound production and recording arts. If you are interested in getting your start in audio production, the program will provide the basic skills needed to excel in your first roles in studio environments. This is also true if you’re interested in refining and focusing your undergraduate studies or if you have never formally studied audio production or worked in a studio but are interested in making a career or directional change.
With a true multidisciplinary approach, the program is run as a partnership between the Setnor School of Music and Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Students have access to resources in both Setnor and Newhouse, including the cutting-edge Dick Clark Studios in the Newhouse Studio and Innovation Center.
